The situation
Kindred Roots is a small team of licensed practitioners — acupuncture, massage, nutrition — led by founder Nora Ashby, a licensed acupuncturist. They take their work seriously. Their website didn’t. The purple gradients and sparkles said “psychic hotline,” and the print-and-fax intake process was losing new patients before they ever walked in.
The approach
This was a Signature project, so it started with a messaging session: who comes here, what are they worried about, and what makes this clinic different? The answer was clear. People come because they feel rushed and unheard elsewhere. So the whole site is built around one idea: unhurried care for the whole person.
The design follows the words — calm, spacious, and trustworthy — with booking always one tap away.
What it’s built to do
This is a concept redesign, so no invented numbers. It’s built to make first-time patients feel safe booking online, to let the practitioners’ credentials speak for themselves, and to fill the calendar without adding work to the front desk.
