Sitting by Kimber

Professional pet care · Greenville, SC

Thirteen years of premium pet care and a loyal Greenville following, built on referrals, but no website or logo. I turned Kimberly's own drawing into her brand and built a warm, personal site that makes texting her the easiest thing on the page.

The brief

A great business, with nowhere to send people.

  1. 01

Thirteen years of premium pet care, and a loyal Greenville clientele built almost entirely on referrals.

  2. 02

No website and no logo. When a happy client passed her name along, there was nowhere to send people.

  3. 03

Pet care runs on trust. A stranger has to feel safe handing over their house keys and the animal they love most.

  4. 04

Nervous pet parents want answers before they reach out. What does it cost? What happens on a visit? Will I get updates?

What I made

A brand, a website, and every word on it.

The headline

“Like you never left.”

Design

  • Her own drawing, redrawn as a logo, with her face on its own for the header, browser tab, and phone home screen.
  • A warm cream, sage, and rose palette, with handwritten notes ("I drew this myself!") that make it feel personal.
  • Her real photo up top, so people meet the person before they see the price list.
  • A Text / Call / Book bar pinned to the bottom of every page on phones.
  • Real reviews front and center, with the best lines underlined by hand.

Copy

  • A headline about the feeling, not the service. "Like you never left."
  • An About section in her own voice, from her first pet-sitting job at 15 to why she does it today.
  • Every rate listed up front, with a simple estimator for longer stays.
  • An FAQ that answers the nervous questions out loud, like keys, updates, and what happens in an emergency.

On a phone

Made for the phone in your customer’s hand.

  • The homepage on a phone, with the headline "Like you never left.", Book and Text buttons, and a Text / Call / Book bar pinned to the bottom of the screen.
A Text / Call / Book bar on every page
  • The How it works section on a phone. Three easy steps to peace of mind, with hand-circled step numbers and the note "it's free!" next to the meet & greet.
Hand-drawn touches that feel like her
  • The Book page on a phone, with a "What it costs" card listing overnight house sitting at $55 to $65 a night and drop-in visits at $20.
    Every price, up front
  • The reviews section on a phone, with a 5.0 from 11 clients badge and a five-star review with its best line underlined by hand.
Real reviews, with the best lines underlined

Her own drawing became her brand

Kimberly had already drawn herself with a cat at her side and a sleepy dog's head in her lap. It was charming, and it was hers. So instead of starting a logo from scratch, I redrew her sketch as clean, crisp lines and built the whole brand around it.

  • Redrawn line by line in sage, cream, and rose, so it stays sharp on a phone, a business card, or a yard sign.
  • Her name in a soft script, made hers: paw prints dot the i's in "Sitting" (her cat and dog), and a heart dots the i in "Kimber."
  • Her face on its own for the site header, browser tab, and phone home screen, where the full scene would turn to mush.
  • The same drawing shows up on the link preview when a happy client texts her site to a friend.
The Sitting by Kimber logo. A line drawing of Kimberly with a cat beside her and a dog resting its head in her lap, above her name in a rose script, with paw prints dotting the i's in "Sitting" and a heart dotting the i in "Kimber," and the tagline "Premium pet care, Greenville, SC."

Where she started

Kimberly has been caring for pets since she was 15. Here in Greenville, her business grew the old-fashioned way: one happy family telling another, without her ever needing to advertise. What she didn’t have was a website or a logo. So when someone heard her name from a friend and went looking, there was nothing to find.

The approach

People don’t really shop for a pet sitter. They’re deciding whether to hand a stranger their house keys and the animal they love most. So the whole site is built to answer one quiet question: can I trust her?

That’s why it leads with Kimberly herself, not a list of services. Her photo, her story in her own words, and the drawing she made of herself, which became her logo. The copy sounds like her on a good day: warm, a little playful, and specific about the things worried pet parents actually ask.

Then I made the next step easy. Every price is on the page. Every booking starts with a free meet & greet. And on a phone, Text, Call, and Book wait at the bottom of the screen wherever you are.

What it’s built to do

Turn a neighbor’s recommendation or a Google search into a text to Kimberly, from someone who already feels like they know her.
